Eurofarma Colombia receives environmental excellence certification

Pread Seal evaluates corporate environmental and social responsibility performance

São Paulo, January 2021Eurofarma Colombia has received another important certification in recognition of its environmental and social responsibility initiatives. The certification was granted by the District Environmental Excellence Program (Pread – Programa Distrital de Excelência Ambiental), linked to the Colombian District Environment Department. 

Pread is a public recognition seal issued every year to companies that excel in creating sustainability initiatives,for their awareness in taking care of natural resources and reducing pollutants. To earn this important seal, a company must meet the following criteria: 

  • Senior management’s leadership and commitment to the environmental management system;
  • Identification and management of environmental aspects;
  • Compliance with legal requirements;
  • Operational control for proper environmental management;
  • Readiness and response to environmental emergencies;
  • Implemented innovation and best practices that foster sustainable production and consumption;
  • Corporate social responsibility with a focus on the environment.

Since the start of operations in Colombia in 2012, Eurofarma has been participating in the program for seven years in line with its global sustainability positioning. This year, the company attained the Environmental Excellence status with a 866-point score, 7.6% higher than in the previous year.
